Hardware
I like to use a variety of hardware for each build: it keeps things spicy! And picking hardware can be a daunting task if it’s’ your first time.

Tuning Machines
My preferences are for Schaller or Gotoh Tuners. There are tons of options out there so it can be hard to pick one. The need for tuning stability must be balanced with the need for as little weight as possible on the headstock. If the tuners are too heavy for an instrument it can pull the headstock toward the ground (nose dive) and it won’t sit right on you while standing.

Tune-O-Matic Bridge
If a tune-o-matic bridge is needed, I again prefer Schaller, but I like Kluson or Gotoh almost as much.

Nuts
There’s nothing wrong with a bone nut. It’s got the job done for a very long time. I sometimes also like a brass nut, or a graphite nut - all three of which I hand carve from blanks.

Knobs
This is one of those things you can shop for on your own if you want! There’s so many options out there, I love to see what people find. I use a standard aluminum dome knob on most builds.

Strap Buttons/Locks
Oval regular buttons come on a new inski, but you can request any kind that’s out there to be current with your favorite strap.

Bridges
These are usually hand carved from ebony or rosewood, with brass saddles. Tune-O-Matic option for those with intonation fears.

Tailpiece
My tailpiece is usually carved from ebony or rosewood with a brass string retainer.
